Mechanical Protection – The First Advantage of Toyota’s Extra Care Protection (ECP)  

Two protection plans are offered, GOLD and PLATINUM. Each provides extensive mechanical coverage for your vehicle up to 7 years or 200,000 kilometers, protecting you after the original 3-year or 60,000-kilometer warranty ends. Different components are covered depending on the chosen plan, but both options offer a genuinely generous extended warranty that can save you from costly repairs once the original warranty is over. Additionally, repairs will always be performed with genuine Toyota parts.

Complimentary Services – The Second Advantage of Toyota’s Extra Care Protection (ECP)  

In addition to the peace of mind provided by mechanical protection, you also get a host of benefits from the moment you add ECP to your vehicle, including the first three years of the maintenance program at no extra cost.

Enhanced Roadside Assistance – The Third Advantage of Toyota’s Extra Care Protection (ECP)  

When you add ECP to your vehicle, you are entitled to roadside assistance for the entire duration of Toyota’s Extra Care Protection.

Tire Road Hazard Protection – The Fourth Advantage of Toyota’s Extra Care Protection (ECP)  

Tire Road Hazard Protection covers your tires for 36 months or 50,000 kilometers (or until the tread wear indicator becomes visible). This means that if your tires are damaged by a road hazard, they will be replaced at no cost, including labor, installation, and balancing.

Travel Interruption Assistance – The Fifth Advantage of Toyota’s Extra Care Protection (ECP)  

Travel Interruption Assistance reimburses hotel, meal, and transportation expenses up to $300 if you break down due to a component covered by ECP more than 300 kilometers from your home.

Travel Planning Service – The Sixth Advantage of Toyota’s Extra Care Protection (ECP)

The Travel Planning Service allows you to obtain personalized maps, alternate routes, points of interest, a directory of sightseeing and accommodation, a list of Toyota dealers along the route, and various entertainments en route when you send your upcoming trip to Toyota. Your planned trip must be sent at least 10 days in advance.

Toyota is already known for reliability, why add ECP?

It’s true that reliability is one of the main reasons people are drawn to Toyota. That said, a car remains a complex machine with thousands of moving parts, and no brand or model is immune to unexpected mechanical issues.  

ECP provides you with extra peace of mind at an affordable price, and if you add ECP to your monthly payment, the difference is minimal compared to all the benefits the program offers. You can view adding ECP as an investment that protects you against unexpected issues once the original warranty expires. Additionally, you can obtain immediate benefits such as free oil changes or free maintenance. ECP pays for itself as soon as you add it to your vehicle.

Is ECP available for used vehicles?

It is possible to add ECP to a certified pre-owned Toyota vehicle, but unlike a new vehicle, it must be added at the time of purchase.

Can I add ECP after purchase?

It is possible for a new vehicle, but to take advantage of the free oil and filter/inspection program of ECP, the program must be added within 31 days of purchase. Additionally, if you want to include ECP in your monthly payment, it must be done at the time of purchase.

What is the difference between ECP Gold and ECP Platinum?

The main difference between the two plans is the number of components covered by Toyota’s Extra Care Protection. The Gold plan covers 17 components, while the Platinum plan covers many more, so much so that it is easier to name the elements not covered in the Platinum plan.  

There are also differences in the services offered. The ECP Gold Plan offers 4 free oil and filter services and one tire rotation or maintenance for 2 years, while the ECP Platinum Plan offers 8 free oil and filter services (plus tire rotations) or maintenance for 3 years.
